Pakistan will 'absolutely not' allow US to use its soil for operations in Afghanistan: PM Imran
PM Imran said the United States must make a political settlement before withdrawing from Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister, in an interview with foreign media, said that he will not allow the US’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to use Pakistan s soil for cross-border missions after American forces withdraw from Afghanistan. The interview will be aired today (Monday).
Imran Khan said that currently there are three million Afghan refugees in Pakistan. The United States must make a political settlement before withdrawing from Afghanistan, he said.
PM Imran said that I am not a spokesperson of Taliban and added that Pakistan suffered heavy losses in US war against terrorism in Afghanistan and added that more than 70,000 Pakistanis were martyred in the US-Afghan war.
The Prime Minister said that there’s no way we’re going to allow any bases or any sort of action from Pakistani territory into Afghanistan after the US forces withdraw from Afghanistan. The Prime Minister said that he will not allow the CIA or US special forces to base themselves inside Pakistan ever again.
Prime Minister said that I am against nuclear weapons. He said that Pakistan s nuclear programme is for national defense only.
PM Imran said that why international community is silent over the consistent violations of human rights of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian security forces.
Replying to a question, PM said whatever issues we have with the Chinese, we speak to them behind closed doors. China has been one of the greatest friends to us in our most difficult times. When we were really struggling, our economy was struggling, China came to our rescue. So we respect the way they are," Khan said.
China is a great friend of Pakistan. When our economy was weak, China helped. China stood by Pakistan in every difficult time.
"I look around the world what s happening in Palestine, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Afghanistan. Am I going to start talking about everything? I concentrate on what is happening on my border, in my country."
